This session was so special to me because these two adorable people are my parents!!! AND this gorgeous farm backdrop is my childhood home.

I was visiting my parents for a short weekend to celebrate my belated birthday. My mom is a wonderful cook, so I told her all I wanted for my birthday dinner was her home cooking and bonfire s’mores for dessert. We spend the early part of Saturday walking the dogs and wine tasting at a local winery. The weather was beautiful all day!

Right before we started to cook dinner, I noticed the sky was starting to glow in the most perfect way! I said, “Mom, Dad, can I pleaseee take some golden hour photos of you?” You see, my parents almost never remember to take pictures together, which is such a shame because they’ve been married for over 30 years!

My parents are selfless, patient, and kind. Their marriage, centered around God, has stood the test of good times and bad, better and worse. I’m so happy to now have a small glimpse of their love story documented. I love the images now, but I know I’ll love them even more in another 20 years when I’ll be sharing 50 years of their joy.
