Two+ years ago, I was a brand new wife, living in a new city, and starting a new job. Anyone who has ever been new to a job knows that there’s a million unknowns. Will it be the right fit? Will I like the culture? Will I make friends?

Well…I got really lucky with that last one. Fairly soon after beginning at this new company, I became great friends with two amazing ladies. And while we’re all at different companies now, they’re still a big part of what makes Hampton Roads feeling like home.

Kaitlin, part of our dynamic trio, is one of my favorite people. She’s been such an encouragement to me in so many ways. She’s kind, compassionate, and giving. I love how she laughs at totally inappropriate times — and how she rubs her brows when she’s overwhelmed. And I love how she’s adorably crazy about her husband, Jared.

Kaitlin and Jared don’t live near their families, and they wanted a way to announce their baby’s gender to them as soon as they found out. So they asked me to take reveal photos for both a boy and a girl, before they knew which they were having. It was so much fun! It was so special when they texted me a photo that I was a part of with the caption “It’s a girl!!!” on the morning they found out.

This baby is already so loved and adored by Kaitlin, Jared, their families, and their friends. They’re going to be such wonderful new parents, and I can’t wait to meet their beautiful baby girl. Enjoy their gender reveal!
